Fergie and Josh Duhamel: Maldives

Newlywed Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has been relaxing on her Maldives honeymoon, canoeing and pottering about with husband Josh Duhamel.
Let's get close to those magical islands of Maldives:

Unbelievable Beaches :

The Maldives is home to perhaps the best beaches in the world; they’re on almost every one of the country’s nearly 1200 islands and are so consistently perfect that it’s hard not to become blasé about them. While some beaches may boast softer granules than others, the basic fact remains: you’ll find this whiter-than-white powder sand and luminous cyan-blue water almost nowhere else on earth. This fact alone is enough to bring nearly a million people a year to this tiny and otherwise little-known Indian Ocean paradise.

Resorts for Everyone :
Every resort in the Maldives is its own private island, and with over 100 to choose from the only problem is selecting where to stay. At the top end, the world’s most exclusive hotel brands compete with each other to attain ever-greater heights of luxury, from personal butlers and private lap pools to in-room massages and pillow menus. It’s not surprising that honeymooners and those seeking a glamorous tropical getaway have long had the country at the top of their wish lists. But there’s choice beyond the five- and six-star resorts. Other islands cater for families, for divers, for those on a (relative) budget, and anyone wanting a tranquil back-to-nature experience.

Underwater World :
With some of the best diving and snorkelling in the world, the clear waters of the Maldives are a magnet for anyone with an interest in marine life. The richness and variety is astonishing – baby sharks can be spotted in any lagoon in the country, while dazzling spectacles such as huge coral walls, magnificent caves and schools of brightly coloured tropical fish await you when you get down to the reef. Manta rays, turtles, friendly sharks and even the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, can be seen all over the country and – amazingly – none of the life on the reef is dangerous. The best bit? The water is so warm many people don’t even wear a wetsuit.

Independent Travel :
What’s more, these incredible islands are finally open to independent travellers, meaning you no longer have to stay in resorts and be kept separate from the local population, something that kept backpackers away for decades. Intrepid individuals can now choose their own itineraries and travel from island to island, living among the devout but extremely friendly local population. With a national ferry network now in place and a growing number of privately run guesthouses on inhabited islands, the Maldives and its people are now more accessible than ever.

Located in the state of Kentucky (USA), Waverly Hills Sanatorium was used to treat tuberculosis patients in the early 20th century. Locked up in the hospital to meet the quarantine patients underwent exploratory surgery operations for the benefit of medical experiments in order to cure the disease. Nearly 63,000 people died in this hospital, in atrocious conditions.

The Island of the Dolls :

Sailing to Mexico to find a particularly murky atmosphere, the Island of the Dolls. Located in a swampy area south of Mexico City, the island boasts a nightmarish scene: thousands of dolls charred by the time hang everywhere on the island

According to legend, a man living as a hermit in the 50s on this deserted island has decided to collect and cling to the trees on the island of dolls to appease the ghost of a girl who would be drowned in a canal bordering the island

The island became a "pull" from the 90s, and although she is not on tour guides, some amateurs do not hesitate to go there by the lagoon with boats. The man who had the idea to hang these dolls being dead, it was his son and grand-son who took over the trade by charging an entrance fee of 4 pesos to allow a tour of the premises. The experience is particularly significant to believe those who visited this island decor as terrifying and absurd.

The city of Centralia in the United States ("Silent Hill") :

Located in Pennsylvania, the city of Centralia was down to seven people in 2007, against 1,000 in 1981 The reason for this fantômisation of the city: a huge fire underground trash in its former coal mine (which had been transformed into landfill) which broke out in 1962 Devastated by the gas, the city suffered even 20 years later fumes of carbon monoxide.  Located in the northeast of the Mount Fuji in Japan, Aokigahara forest is known for being the scene of most of the suicides in the region, fueling urban legends "haunted forest".

In any case, this place attracts more and more candidates for suicide, because the number of bodies found in the forest increases from year to year: skeletons or bodies half eaten are routinely found. While very little light in the forest, it is extremely easy to get lost because all the angles are the same. Moreover, deep crevices adorn the floor.

Marrakech : the most visited city

Marrakech is a city of about 2 million, instead of tourism excellence Marrakech has retained its authenticity. The city is composed of two parts: the new city and the old city. This is much appreciated by Stars probably for its narrow streets, beautiful riads and the population that is warm and welcoming. The new city is the complete opposite of the ancient city: new buildings, department stores, palm groves, golf courses, parks, hotels, clubs, swimming pools ...

Marrakech is often called the second Ibiza probably because of the many discotheques in the city as well as because of the great DJ coming in nightclubs (David Guetta, Martin Solveig ...). Especially not to miss in Marrakech: Djemaa el Fna, the Koutoubia, the Ourika Valley, but also Hotel La Mamounia.
